General practice & everyday care

Appointments long enough to finish the sentence.

Terra Quill is a small clinic built around unhurried consultations. Four care pathways, one clinical record, and a team that reads your history before you sit down.

Good to know before you arrive

Consulting hours
Weekdays from early morning to late afternoon, with two extended evening sessions each week.
Bring with you
Current medicines or a photo of the packets, plus any letters from another clinic.
Allow extra time
First visits run about forty minutes. Arrive ten minutes early to register at reception.

Every pathway is led by a named clinician, so follow-ups stay with the person who saw you first.

What we look after

Four pathways, each with its own rhythm

We keep the list short on purpose. If something falls outside these areas we will tell you at the enquiry stage rather than at the door, and point you to the right kind of service.

General consultations

New symptoms, infections, pain, fatigue, sick notes and the ordinary questions that do not fit anywhere else. Examination, a clear explanation, and a written plan you leave with.

25 min

Women's health

Contraception reviews and changes, cycle and menopause consultations, cervical screening, and coil or implant appointments booked as a dedicated procedure slot.

30–45 min

Skin & minor procedures

Mole and lesion assessment with dermoscopy, rashes, acne planning, wound care, and small removals carried out in the treatment room under local anaesthetic.

30 min

Long-term condition reviews

Blood pressure, thyroid, asthma, diabetes and medication reviews on a set schedule, with bloods taken beforehand so the appointment is about the results, not the paperwork.

What actually happens, step by step

Most of the nerves about a new clinic come from not knowing the shape of the appointment. Here is ours.

Step one

Register

Reception confirms your details and the reason for the visit, then explains how long the clinician is running behind, if at all.

Step two

Intake conversation

Ten minutes of history: what changed, when, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping to walk out with.

Step three

Examination & plan

Any examination happens with a chaperone offered. You then agree the plan together — tests, treatment, or watchful waiting with a review date.

Step four

Follow-up

A written summary goes to your record the same day. Results are discussed at a booked follow-up rather than left in an inbox.

Choosing the right slot

Inside the clinic

A quiet building, on purpose

Four consulting rooms, one treatment room and a waiting area small enough that nobody queues in a corridor.

Step-free throughout

Level entry, wide doorways, an accessible washroom, and a height-adjustable examination couch in two of the rooms.

A room away from the waiting area

If waiting rooms are difficult, tell us on the form and we will seat you in the side room or text you when the clinician is ready.

Interpreting and companions

We can arrange a professional interpreter with a few days' notice, and you are welcome to bring someone into the consultation.

Before you book

Questions we are asked most

Do I need a referral to be seen?

No. You can request any of our appointment types directly. A referral letter is only useful if it carries test results or a specialist's plan we should read beforehand — send it with your request if you have one.

Can you get my records from a previous clinic?

Yes, with your written consent, which we collect at the first visit. Transfers can take a few weeks, so for the first appointment please bring a list of your current medicines and any recent results you already hold.

Do you see children?

We see children from five years old in general consultations, accompanied by a parent or guardian who can consent. Infants and newborn checks sit outside what this clinic is set up for, and we will say so at the enquiry stage.

Will a chaperone be offered for examinations?

Always, for any intimate examination, and on request for any other. You can also ask for a clinician of a particular gender when you make the request; we will tell you honestly whether that is available in the week you want.

Can you issue repeat prescriptions?

For medicines we have prescribed or reviewed here, yes. We ask for a review appointment at least once a year for ongoing medicines, and sooner for anything that needs monitoring bloods or a blood pressure check.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Reply to your confirmation message as early as you can. Because slots are long, a late cancellation usually goes unused — giving us a working day's notice lets someone else take the time.

How are test results given to me?

Results are explained in a booked discussion rather than sent as raw numbers. Straightforward normal results can be confirmed in writing if you would prefer that, and you always receive a copy of the report.

Is this an emergency service?

No. Terra Quill is a planned-appointment clinic. For chest pain, breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding, sudden weakness or any situation that feels urgent, use your local emergency service rather than this page.

Tell us what you need and when

Send the request and our reception team replies with two or three offered times, plus anything you should prepare in advance. Nothing is confirmed until you reply to accept a slot.

  • Reception reads every request; nothing is auto-booked.
  • Only share what you are comfortable putting in writing.
  • If your request suits a different slot length, we will suggest it.
  • Please do not use this form for urgent problems.

This form is not monitored outside consulting hours. For anything urgent, contact your local emergency service.
